Very Short For Now

AHHHH! I still have so much to do before I leave tomorrow. It's insane. Anyway, I did want to post before I went to bed tonight. Don't have a lot to talk about because my mind is in a thousand different places right now. I found out that I might be going on a ski trip soon, so that could be fun. We'll have to see what schedule my boss gives me when he (and I) get back from "vacation."

On another note, the low-riding pants bill was tabled in the General Assembly today. So it looks like I won't go to jail this summer. :-) If you don't know what I'm talking about, check out this post from the other night. Nonetheless, the bill has gained national attention - Jay Leno made a joke about it tonight (although he mentioned that the bill passed, which it has not - and pretty much will not). So go sag all you want.

  • Thank goodness that law got tabled. What nonsense. When stuff like this comes up I can't help but wonder... does the legislature SERIOUSLY have nothing better to do? I mean, these guys have got to be pretty bored to worry about such menial nonsense. I'm sure the cops would love enforcing this one too - talk about a waste of time for trained officers.

And you are right - it has the added bonus of being completely ambiguous - how much is too much? I mean, when I don't wear a shirt during summer, chances are (as you say) at least SOME part of the waist band is going to show.

As for people who have like 90% of their boxers showing and their pants buckled around their quads? Well guys, you look like complete idiots. But I don't see why the law should care.

As an aside, if this passed, I'd just be waiting for some guy to have low riding pants with NO underwear to get around it. I think everyone agrees, we don't want that. *shudder*
